Team Lapua’s Brandon Green secured a second-place overall finish at the 2026 NRA National High Power Mid-Range Prone Championships, held June 2–6 at the Oklahoma City Gun Club in Arcadia, Oklahoma.

Competing over five days, Green posted an impressive aggregate score of 2397-183X, maintaining a high level of consistency throughout the championship and remaining firmly in contention from start to finish. This marks his second consecutive runner-up finish at the event, after also placing second in 2025. He achieved this performance shooting Lapua 6GT cases paired with Berger 6mm 108 BT Target bullets.

In addition to his individual result, Green was part of the winning team alongside Kimberly Rowe, Larry Sollars, and Jonathan O’Neal, with coaching support from Charles Rowe.

Green also claimed the High Military Veteran and took top honors in the Any Rifle Iron Sight Category, further underscoring his versatility and precision across disciplines.

His match scores, listed in order, reflect exceptional consistency at the national level:

Keith Trapp of Team Lapua claimed victory at the 2026 North State Shooting Club (NSSC) NRA Long Range Regional, held June 13–14 at the National Guard’s Camp Butner Training Site in Butner, North Carolina. Trapp delivered a standout performance, finishing with an impressive 981-32X aggregate.

Trapp credited his success to the reliability and consistency of his equipment, which includes Berger 30 Caliber 208 Grain Long Range Hybrid Target bullets and Vihtavuori N150 powder loaded in Lapua 308 Winchester Palma cases. Following his victory, Trapp stated “Lapua’s superior quality gave me the consistency I needed to win.”

Team Lapua’s Erich Mietenkorte has won the 2026 Iron Man Silhouette Championships for an unprecedented fifth time, tying the all-time Iron Man aggregate record.

The annual Iron Man Silhouette Championships returned to Deep Creek Range in Missoula, Montana, June 6–7, drawing top shooters from across the United States and Canada for two demanding days of competition. Hosted by the Hellgate Civilian Shooters Association, the event tests precision, endurance, and mental focus, with competitors firing 320 shots from the standing position across Smallbore (.22 LR at 40–100 meters) and High-Power (centerfire at 200–500 meters) disciplines. Challenging conditions with shifting winds, with heavy gusts, and rain, made every shot hard-fought.

Mietenkorte dominated the field, winning all four individual titles, Smallbore and High Power in both Standard and Hunter Rifle. He clinched the Overall Aggregate Championship tying the all-time high set by fellow Team Lapua member Cathy Winstead-Severin in 2017.

Mietenkorte competes in Smallbore Rifle using Lapua Midas+, which was matched and lot-tested for peak performance at the Lapua Rimfire Performance Center in Mesa, Arizona.

“In a match like this, there is no room to wonder whether the ammunition is going to perform. With Lapua Midas+, I know that when I do my part, the bullet goes exactly where I point it,” said Mietenkorte. “That level of confidence allows me to focus entirely on execution, even as conditions and pressure build. In High-Power, Mietenkorte shoots 6mm BR in Hunter Rifle division and 6mm GT in the Standard Rifle, both using Lapua premium cartridge cases, Vihtavuori propellant, and Berger bullets.

Winning all four individual championships, tying the all-time record, and validating a new high-power rifle combination under match conditions made this an especially meaningful weekend in Mietenkorte’s shooting career. It was a true test of equipment, preparation, and execution.

Nate Guernsey of Team Lapua has secured his second 300-meter National Championship title of 2026, winning the U.S. National Championship with an impressive score of 593. The victory follows his earlier success at the New Zealand Nationals in January, marking a standout year on the international stage.

The U.S. National Championships, sponsored by USA Shooting, were held this past weekend at the Minneapolis Rifle Club outside Elk River, Minnesota. Guernsey, competing with Lapua 6mm BR cases, Vihtavuori N140 powder, and Berger 108 Grain BT Target bullets, set the pace early by taking first place in the prone match on day one of the 2-day event. His day two performance secured him the national title.

Erich Mietenkorte of Team Lapua made history at the 2026 Conard Bernhardt Silhouette Championship, becoming the first shooter to earn the prestigious Super Slam Award.

The annual championship drew top competitors from across the U.S. and Canada, with shifting winds adding difficulty despite otherwise favorable weather. Mietenkorte placed third in Master class with a score of 136/160 in the demanding offhand smallbore silhouette discipline, which involves engaging steel targets at 40, 60, 77, and 100 meters.

In addition to his podium finish, Mietenkorte earned the Super Slam Award, part of a program developed by the Bull River Shooters Association (BRSA). The distinction requires a shooter to hit 15 consecutive targets for each animal in both Standard and Hunting rifle categories. With this achievement, Mietenkorte becomes the first shooter in history to attain the Super Slam.

He previously completed both the Mini Slam (five in a row) and the Grand Slam (10 in a row), marking progress through the BRSA’s challenging milestone program.

“I’ve been fortunate to complete both the Mini Slam and Grand Slam, and with this award, I became the first shooter to achieve the Super Slam,” said Mietenkorte. “I rely on Lapua Midas+ ammunition that is lot-tested and matched to my rifle at the Rimfire Performance Center in Mesa, Arizona. It gives me absolute confidence while on the firing line. The precision and consistency delivered is critical—I would not be able to perform at a high level or accomplish goals like these without it. This milestone underscores how difficult this discipline truly is. Stringing together even five consecutive hits is no small feat, and pushing that to 10, 15, and ultimately 20 demands the highest level of consistency and mental focus.”

Mietenkorte will continue his competitive season at the Lapua Super Shoot Silhouette Championship, May 23-24, as he pursues the next milestone in the BRSA program: the Ultra Slam, which requires 20 consecutive hits on rams.

The South Swedish Nationals held on 16 May 2026 by Norrahammars Jakt och Sportskytteklubb became a standout event for Lapua’s sponsored shooter Rikard Alm, who delivered one of his strongest performances to date. Demonstrating consistency across all stages, Alm secured first place in combined game shooting with an impressive total score of 367/400.

One of the standout moments of the day came during the rifle position shooting at 100 meters, where Rikard achieved a flawless 100/100 on the roedeer target competing with his Sauer 100 chambered in .223 Rem and loaded with Lapua Scenar 69 grs.

Reflecting on the match, Alm shared his thoughts on the challenges and triumphs of the day:

“I’m very happy with the overall result, even though I fell a bit short on the running moose and sporting clay stages. The weather started out good, but toward the end the rain was pouring down, which made things more challenging. When I had fired the first nine shots on the roedeer target at 100 meters, I saw that all of them were in the 10‑ring. Taking that final shot is always tough, but I managed to stay calm and just barely squeezed out another 10.”
