Peter Sidi had an excellent start to the year in his first 300 m standard rifle competition (3×20) in Lapua European Cup in Aarhus. He beat the current World Record held by Cyril Graff with the result 196 – 198 – 196 = 590. Not a bad start! Congratulations, Peter!

The IPC Shooting World Cup was held in Al Ain, UAE, January 20-28 2016. There were 27 countries present and Lapua was sponsoring the event.

Each and every Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winner at the World Benchrest Championships was using Lapua .220 Russian cases converted to 6PPC and they were all using Vihtavuori N133 powder.

Final ended with Superfinal in Zagreb on Sunday

The final gathered the world´s best 300 m shooters together in Zagreb where the season ended with all 5 disciplines and with the new Superfinal test shooting.

Among all the great results 3 highlights stood up:

Lisa Müller (GER) equalled the European Record in 300 m Rifle Prone Women with the result 599-27x, Peter Sidi (HUN) also ended up  equalling ER in 300 m Rifle 3P Men match as he finished his shooting – but before the match was over, Gernot Rumpler (AUT) came and replaced the old ER with an unbelievable  new one  – 1185-65x!

Camp Perry 2015 National Matches

Lapua is proud to congratulate Jeff Lindblom for his stellar performance at the Camp Perry 2015 National Matches. Fighting against wind, weather, and the pressures of competing against the very best rifle shooters in the world, Jeff used Lapua 223 Match cases, 77 grain Scenar bullets on top of VihtaVuori powder. It proved a winning combination to help him achieve a stunning collection of wins during the grueling CMP and NRA Championships. Jeff nailed down an impressive number of titles, including the High Civilian Team in the Hearst Doubles, High Civilian shooter in the NTT, the Nathan Hale Trophy, High Civilian in the President’s Hundred, the Alice Bull Trophy (the aggregate of the NTI and President’s Hundred), the Pietroforte Trophy and High Civilian in the Mountain Man Trophy. During the NRA Championships, he placed in the Vandenburg Cup, the Clarke Trophy, Marine Gunner D.I. Boyd Memorial Match, the Coast Artillery Trophy, the Navy Cup Match, the Appreciation Cup Match, the Cavalry Cup Match and the Crowell Trophy Match, and earned the title of Civilian Service Rifle Champion.

We honor Jeff’s incredible season, and his dedication and determination to succeed in this tough venue. Lapua is very proud to have played a role in that success, and his trust in our ability to provide the very best components to take him to this impressive record!

The world´s best metallic silhoutte rifle shooter Marko Nikko, FIN cleaned the table in Metallic Silhouette European Championship 2015 Games in Volmerange Les Mines, France.

Marko won Big Bore Rifle Hunter, Big Bore Rifle Aggregate, Small Bore Rifle Light, Small Bore Rifle Silhouette and Small Bore Rifle Aggregate by beating all other competitors clearly. Only one small mistake occurred in Big Bore Rifle Silhouette match where Marko finished with silver medal.  

All his success Marko achieved by using Lapua´s 6,5 mm GB458 9,0 g / 139 gr OTM Scenar bullets and Vihtavuori N560 powder in his 6,5×55 SE loads. In small bore matches Marko relied on Lapua .22 LR Midas+.

The long term co-operation between Team Finland and Lapua was also one of the key factors in the rest of the success of Team Finland.

Team FInland shooters – Rauno Ärväs, Esko Lempola, Petri Savinainen, Jorma Juntunen, Juha-Matti Saari and Unto Järvinen – came back home from France with 11 medals!

The World Rimfire & Air Rifle Benchrest Federation 3rd World Championships, Brisbane, Australia, 22 July – 1st Aug, 2015

Lapua´s  .22 LR X-Act was the BEST ammunition in WRABF WCH 2015 in Brisbane!

The World Champion title in the class of HV-RF was won with .22 LR X-Act. The Finnish shooters took all podium places and all of them used our .22 LR X-Act  – which they tested and selected in Lapua Service Center in Germany during the Spring.

Please notice also the member of “Team Lapua Finland” – Tomi Korpi won World Champion title in the class of LV-RF, 2 Gun Aggregate LV+HV and 3 Gun Aggregate Int SP, LV & HV. Tomi´s results in LV and HV are also New World Records! His son Aappo Korpi (12 years old!) won the title in the class of HV-RF Junior.

Also other medals were taken by the Finns Aappo Korpi and Risto Murisoja.

The quantity of inner tens which were shot with X-Act was remarkable.
