Congratulations to Team Lapua’s Keith Trapp winning the F-Class Target Rifle (F-TR) category at the 2022 Southwest Nationals! Keith also won the SWN in 2019. Shooting with his .308 chambered, 700-platform rifle, Keith won the High-Master class with a Grand Aggregate score of 1233-62X. He was also the coach of winning squad, Team USA F-TR Blue.

The Southwest Nationals, sponsored by Berger took place February 9-13th at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, AZ with 350 competitors. The Southwest Nationals is hosted by the Desert Sharpshooters Rifle Club and is the “must-attend” event for competitive long-range shooters around the world. The SWN features F-Open, F-TR, and Sling disciplines. Competitors from over 9 different countries were in attendance.

Congratulations to Bob Blaine for winning Factory Class of the Auto-Benchrest Association (ABRA) 2021 Nationals. Blaine won using his blueprinted 10/22 target rifle firing Lapua Center-X ammunition. The Center-X was test-fired and matched to his platform at the Lapua Rifle Performance Center in Marengo, OH.

Blaine commented, “The Lapua Performance Center was an experience like no other. They tested several different lots of Center-X, allowed me to view group sizes at 50 and 100 meters simultaneously, and then helped identify the best performer in my platform. This gave me the confidence to succeed, knowing if I paid attention to the wind and range conditions, I could bring home the win. A game-changer for any rimfire competitor!”

The ABRA Nationals were held September 3-5^th at the Kettlefoot Rod & Gun Club in Bristol, OH. Course of fire consisted of six targets, with a maximum score of 200 points per target, totaling 1,200 points. Blaine’s winning score of 1,114 tied with Pam Gates, and the tie-breaker determined by their “high target” for the event. Blaine’s high target score of 190 bested Gates 189 for the victory. Congrats to Pam for her 2^nd place finish, and to her husband Doug with a 3^rd place score of 1,110.

Shooting is .308 chambered, 700-platform rifle, Keith won the High-Master class with a Grand Aggregate score of 1162.34, ousting the next competitor by 18 points.

The Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club hosted the Delaware State Long Range Championship on August 28-29^th, 2021. Iron sights class was held on August 28th, with any sight competing on August 29th.

F-Class Target Rifle (F-TR) category has strict requirements of a “ready-to-go” rifle weighing no more than 18-lbs. Chambers are required to be unmodified and use a standard .308/7.62 NATO or .223/5.56 NATO.

Team Zero/Lapua’s Dave Lange has had a busy and successful 2021 championship season.  Lange won the individual .22 National Championship title at the CMP National Pistol Championships this past month. Just days later, Lange won silver in the individual and gold in the two-man .22 and .45 during the NRA National Precision Pistol Championships. Lange competes using Lapua Center-X rimfire ammunition.

The 2021 CMP National Pistol Championships took place July 7-12^th at Camp Perry, Ohio. Camp Perry hosted over 600 competitors and 50 Teams, including military marksmanship units from across the country. Camp Perry, located in Port Clinton, OH, has hosted annual National Competitions since 1903. Since then, Camp Perry matches have grown to many disciplines, including Trophy Pistol/Rifle, National Smallbore, and National Long-Range Matches.

The NRA National Precision Pistol Championships were held July 20-21^st at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana. The 2021 Championships included the National .22 Championship, centerfire and .45 for both individual and team matches. “2021 marks the third 22 cal. National Championship match I’ve won using Lapua Center-X ammunition. From earning the first 22 EIC Distinguished Pistol Shot badge, to winning several indoor, outdoor and team national championships, I depend on the accuracy and reliability of Lapua Center-X ammunition at every match. For many years of competition with several different lots of ammunition, I would like to thank Lapua for the quality that is delivered in every box,” commented Lange.

Congratulations to Lapua’s Rimfire Performance Center Manager, Luke Johnson, on winning the 2021 NRA Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championship this week at the Ridgway Rifle Club in PA. Luke won the Hunter Rifle Class (110/120) while his Team Lapua teammate Cathy Winstead-Severin (110/120) captured the Standard Rifle Match. Luke’s combined total in both Hunter and Standard Rifle (217/240) propelled him to the 2021 overall Championship. Cathy followed closely (214/240) in 2^nd overall with Laura Goetsch in 3^rd (210/240).  Team SK’s Erich Mietenkorte (209/240) finished in 4^th place.

Luke, Cathy, and Mark Pharr combined to propel Team Lapua into the NRA National Champion position in both Standard and Hunter Rifle. Team Berger’s Dustin Flint and John Mullins combined with Team SK’s Erich Mietenkorte to capture 2^nd place in the Team competition in both rifle classes.

Team Berger’s John Mullins won high Senior with 203/240 edging out Team Lapua’s Mark Pharr at 200/240.

The 2021 NRA Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championship took place in Ridgway, PA on Aug 7-9. It consisted of 3 x 80 round relays, all fired from the standing position. For each relay, shooters engage ten chickens at 40 meters, ten pigs at 60 meters, ten turkeys at 77 meters and ten rams at 100 meters.

Congratulations to Lapua’s Rimfire Performance Center Manager, Luke Johnson, on winning the Lapua Super Shoot. Luke won the Standard Rifle class with a score of 176 out of a possible 200 and a shot a perfect 40 out of 40 in the Hunter Rifle to win the class with an aggregate score of 185.

With Luke’s perfect score in Hunter Rifle, he joins the elite 4-member club of registered masters who have shot a perfect score in both Standard and Hunter Rifle silhouette disciplines. Luke obtained his perfect score in Standard Rifle at the 2017 National Silhouette Championship.

The Lapua Super Shoot took place May 29-30th at the Silhouette Capital of the U.S., Ridgway Rifle Club in Ridgway, PA. It consisted of 3 x 120 round relays, all fired from the standing position. For each relay, shooters engage ten chickens at 40 meters, ten pigs at 60 meters, ten turkeys at 77 meters and ten rams at 100 meters.

“This was my 3rd perfect 40/40 of my silhouette career, all have been shot with tested Lapua Center-X,” stated Johnson, “There have only been 10 different competitors to ever fire a perfect score in registered competition. This was a special 40/40 with it being my first in Hunter Rifle class.”
