Lapua’s Allison Zane to Compete at Precision Rifle World Championships

Congratulations to Team Lapua’s Allison Zane for being selected to represent the US Precision Rifle team at the inaugural Precision Rifle World Championships! Allison will represent the US Ladies Open team.

The Precision Rifle World Championships will be held August 6 – 12 at the Bitche Military Camp in Bitche, France. Competitors from 26 countries will participate, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Namibia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, and Sweden.

“I am beyond excited and humbled to have been selected by the US Precision Rifle Association as a member of the first US Precision Rifle Team competing in the inaugural World Championship. I can’t think of a greater honor in this sport I love, than the opportunity to represent the United States of America on an international level. There will be a total of 15 US competitors attending. I look forward to joining forces with Payton Grimes and Lauryl Akenhead as part of the US Ladies Open team,” commented Zane.

Regarding her competition platform, Zane stated, “I will compete with a custom-built precision rifle by Short Action Customs, barreled in 6mm Creedmoor shooting Lapua brass and Berger 109 Grain Long Range Hybrid Target (LRHT) bullets. My rifle is built with a Defiance Machine Ruckus Tactical action, a Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) ACC chassis system, a Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36×56 scope, a Hawk Hill Custom Marksman Contour barrel, an MDT Comp Brake, and Huber two-stage trigger.”

Team Lapua Member Allison Zane Wins POPRC Regional

Team Lapua’s Allison Zane won at the Penn-Ohio Precision Rifle Club (POPRC) Northeast Regional PRS match hosted by MKM Precision. Allison, with a score of 89, also won Top Lady and Top Junior for a clean sweep of the regional. Amazing work Allison!

The POPRC Northeast Regional was held in Kennerdell, Pennsylvania on June 11th and was the fifth of eight NE Regional series matches. Allison currently sits in 3rd place overall in the series with the finale concluding on September 24th.

Team Lapua’s Chris Simmons Wins NRL22X Championship Series

Team Lapua’s Chris Simmons is the Champion! Chris was crowned the NRL22X National Champion for the second year in a row this past Memorial Day Weekend. Simmons, who outscored 220 other competitors, scored a 1910.33 to win both the final match and the entire 2021 NRL22X series.

The 2021 NRL22X National Championships series ran from June 2021, through the final match held May 27-29 at the Gadsden Shooting Center in Iberia, MO.

“I knew going into the championship I needed the best ammo possible,” commented Chris. “Devan at the Lapua Test Facility in Mesa, Arizona set me up a few weeks before the match with the best possible lot of Lapua Center-X for my rifle!”

Chris’ Lapua Center-X .22LR ammunition was matched to his firearms at Lapua’s Rimfire Performance Center. Unique lots of ammunition are tested at 50 and 100 meters simultaneously, identifying the best performing ammunition for purchase. For the second year in a row, Team Lapua members Joe Besche, Maddisyn Reed, and Brian Brandt claimed the overall top three places at the American Rimfire Association (ARA) Tournament held at the Benchrest Rifle Club of St. Louis in Wright City, Missouri. Well done Joe, Maddisyn and Brian!

Joe won the ARA Club Tournament using Lapua Midas + rimfire ammunition. He averaged 2,175 per target and had an overall score of 13,050 out of a possible 13,800. Second place went to fellow Team Lapua member Maddisyn with a score of 13,025. Brian finished third with a score of 13,000.

Maddisyn stated, “It was awesome to see the team take the podium at the tournament for the second year in a row! It was a tight finish between the three of us and it was really awesome to see Joe come out on top. He is such an incredible competitor and comrade to our sport, he’s a blessing to me, and I am so thankful that I have him.”

Team Lapua’s Maddisyn (Maddi) Reed has become the highest-ranking Junior shooter in the history of the American Rimfire Association’s Hall of Fame.
Maddi finished 3^rd out of 763 competitors in the 2021 season and achieved gold status in the Hall of Fame. She also holds the “highest-ranking junior competitor finish on the overall Aline” and the record for the “greatest number of perfect outdoor targets shot by a junior competitor” by shooting two certified perfect 2500 targets. Maddisyn continued her 2021 success with the following accolades:

With the conclusion of her junior career, Maddi will kick off the 2022 season as a “senior” competitor in ARA and as Match Director for the new range in Holts Summit, MO. The new range, built by Maddi and her father, is a 50-yard range with twenty benches and will start holding matches this June.

Maddi says, “The range has been a great new adventure for us to take on, and I love that I am able to go straight into being both a Senior competitor and match director. The range is a way for me to continually be involved and connected with ARA. It has been such a blessing over the years that so much love has been poured into me through these events and by the people I compete with who have become my family, that I pray I am able to give back and bless others the way they have blessed me all these years!”
